Talent is everywhere.
For some time now, I have been working with the cast and crew in the final push to complete the film "Happy Endings," and I have been reminded of the power of the actors and crew involved, and am keenly aware that there are many wonderful people in the local community.
I have been making short films for a long time and thought it was better to do everything myself, including directing, writing, editing, and shooting.
When I was making my first attempt at a feature film, "Happy Endings," I thought that somewhere along the way I would be blessed with more talented people if I stayed in Tokyo. I think there was a part of me that thought so.
But now I have come to believe that I was wrong in that thinking.
When a person realizes that it is better to get help from others to do a good job than to do it alone, he or she will achieve great growth.
This is a quote from Andrew Carnegie, the "King of Steel," and I am now keenly aware that it is true.
I have come to realize that the problem is me, and that I can accomplish great things wherever I am, as long as I can understand and relate to the good qualities and thoughts of my fellow workers.
It is not where I am, but whether or not I can learn to let the talents around me shine.
